TRADITIONAL CHINESE MEDICINE (TCM)
“Chinese medicine uses the theory of Yin and Yang and the theory of Wu Xing to explain the mechanism of balancing the function of the body. Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners use a number of treatment options based on the patient diagnosis. This may include a combination of herbal medicine and treatment modalities, such as acupuncture, moxibustion, cupping, gua sha, and tui na.”
-College of Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioner and Acupuncturist of Ontario
Acupuncture
Acupuncture uses ultra-thin needles at specific points to restore energy flow and maintain bodily balance (homeostasis). Improvement can often be felt immediately, though 6 to 12 sessions are typically recommended for a full course of treatment. While generally painless, sensitivity varies by individual and point location. For those who prefer a needle-free approach, we offer alternative TCM modalities including: ear-acupoint therapy, cupping, guasha, manual therapy & herbal medicine.
Chinese Herbal Medicine
Custom tailored herbal prescriptions are offered to enhance the effect of acupuncture or to treat the root cause of your concerns. Herbal consultations can be booked as a “combo” with acupuncture. This appointment can be billed under Acupuncture
Manual Osteopathy
“Manual Osteopathy is a client-centred discipline that is based on understanding the relationship between structure and function in order to enhance the body’s inherent ability to heal. It relies on skilled manual therapeutic techniques to assess and treat the client, guiding the natural self-healing properties of the human body”
